To All the Women, It’s Your Day

Woman goes through plethora of changes right from when she is a child, to an adolescent, to being a wife, to being a mother and then getting into menopause.

In 1987, during a reunion of members of Women's Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR), 28thMay was declared as International Day of Action for Women's Health.

This aims at improvising the sexual and reproductive health of women. Woman power is no more looked down today. In every way woman has proved to be equivalent to men with courage and freedom of choice

Woman power before and now:Previously women were implicated with only child bearing and looking after the family. Today she has excelled herself from managing home to various other professions. The proof of which is our Modi cabinet that comprises of 25% women ministers leading India in hand with  Mr Narendra Modi.

Mortality v/s Contraception: Motherhood is a beautiful feeling only a woman is gifted with. Utilizing the boon in a right way is important to safe guard the health. As per the statistics 99% of maternal deaths are said to happen every year. Contraception is something that has to be focused on to reduce the mortality rate to rule out unplanned pregnancy.

On the social front: The myths of son being supreme and child marriage is not as prevalent as before yet needs to be completely ruled out . The ratio of deaths due to dowry is said to be 1 among 1 lakhwoman. 70% illiterate women are prone to deaths in equation with 15% literate woman. So, literacy does play a major role in maintaining health.
